LEWISTON — Fresh off Sugarloaf’s Reggae Fest 2026, chef Jeff Bailey of Jeff’s Jamaican Cuisine is firing up the grill for the season at 940 Lisbon St. The food trailer opened Wednesday.

It’s the sixth year for Jeff’s food trucks — the first truck was purchased in 2020 and last year The Buzz told you about the second truck they bought to better cover events and festivals, while still taking care of loyal customers at their Lisbon Street location.

What’s new? How about whole fried or steamed Caribbean snapper, or parrotfish? You’ll need to preorder the whole fish, but it only takes about 15 minutes to cook.

Jamaican festival is being added to the menu. It’s an oblong-shaped, fluffy fried dough that’s slightly sweet, consisting of corn flour, flour and sugar. Look for ripe plantains as well.

Co-owner Sophia Bailey says they plan on adding a lunch menu in a few weeks that will be lighter fare, with smaller portions and lower prices.

Jeff’s Jamaican Cuisine’s hours are the same, Tuesday-Sunday, noon to 7 p.m. or until sold out.

As for that second food truck, you can expect to find it frequently at the Waterville food truck park, where they’ve created a following.

On Fridays, Jeff’s Jamaican will be parked on Main Street in Lewiston by the mill, and of course they’ll be geared up for this year’s Fourth of July weekend festivities.

It’s a combined weekend of events with both Lewiston and Auburn involved. Plans are being finalized as of today, but you can check their website at libertyfest.org.
