Experience is an asset for the 26ers, which is one reason coach Tyler DeMoore-Gonzalez thinks this year’s squad is stronger across the board and much improved from last year, when it earned Class B’s No. 12 seed. St. Joseph’s College commit Tucker Nelson (41 goals, 12 assists) leads the attack, junior Dylan Cobb controls the faceoff X (74% win rate), junior LSM Garrett Beaucage (55 ground balls, 22 caused turnovers) brings speed and defensive disruption to the transition game, and senior Isaiah Portas (65 ground balls, 40 caused turnovers) anchors the defense. Thomas College commit Aaron Wante becomes the starting goalie after splitting time last year.

The Blue Devils were still trying to gain their footing in a new system last year, but after a playoff appearance as Class A’s No. 9 seed, the team enters 2026 in a strong position, according to second-year coach Ben Michaud. Lewiston did lose its entire starting defense to graduation, but an 18-player junior class should help fill the roles. Collin Michaud (57 points) and Ben Gradwell lead the attack, Thomas Cooper, Christian Rosario and Austin Landry are key contributors in the midfield and transition game, and Joe D’Andrea brings an experienced presence to the defense.

The Cougars earned the No. 9 seed in the Class B tournament a year ago, and although this year’s team is relatively young, the return of some experienced players can help push them to the playoffs again. Senior attack Julian Reynolds, a top utility player and passer, is back after suffering a season-ending knee injury, and Cam Ranger, a solid inside shooter, moves up to attack from the midfield. Luc Walker, one of the team’s top scorers, makes the switch to midfield from attack, and Stevie Davis, an impact player on both ends, moves to the middle from defense.

The Hawks reached the Class C championship game each of the past two seasons. While the team suffered graduation losses, the talent is there to make a third straight run at the state title game. It starts up front, where the Hawks return all three starting attackmen: Ethan Chilton (40 goals and 26 assists in 2025), Caleb Morgan (43 goals, seven assists) and Jacob Lyons (51 goals, 17 assists). Defensively, Ryan Bourque picked up 58 ground balls last season and caused 41 turnovers. His defensive leadership will be important because the Hawks have a new goalie, junior Cole Canning. Freshman Ryne Robitaille will also contribute on defense. Class C will be tough this season, with strong traditional powers like North Yarmouth Academy and Wells, as well as the addition of Gardiner.
