Matthew Harding, Spruce Mountain senior: Harding went 8-3 in the regular season last spring. The Phoenix are expected to contend in the Mountain Valley Conference, and Harding will be one of their key players.

Judah Paris, Lewiston sophomore: Paris is the Blue Devils’ top singles player. He’s coming off a 4-8 freshman campaign that included a berth in the state singles tournament. He was named to the Sun Journal All-Region team.

Sawyer Rooney, Winthrop senior: Rooney was solid last spring for the Ramblers, going 6-6 in singles as the Ramblers’ No. 2 player. He was an MVC first-team selection and member of the Sun Journal All-Region team, and should contend for a spot in the state singles tournament in May.  

Alejandro Rigol Ruiz, Mt. Blue senior: Ruiz is the latest foreign-exchange student from Spain to join the Mt. Blue boys tennis team. He’s fairly new to tennis, but coach Zac Conlogue said he is a quick study. Rigol Ruiz has won a few preseason matches and his first varsity match against Yashveer Patel of Skowhegan.

Calvin Vincent, Edward Little senior: The Red Eddies’ No. 1 singles player for the third year in a row, Vincent compiled a 10-2 record in team competition last spring and reached the second round of the state singles tournament. He enters this season aiming for a deeper run in the state singles.
