Chloe LeBlanc struck out 14 batters and pitched a three-hit shutout as Edward Little softball earned its fourth straight win with a 7-0 victory over Greely on Monday in Auburn.
Nellie Feeney and Lauren Bolduc paced the Red Eddies (5-1) with four hits apiece. Two of Feeney’s hits went for extra bases — a double and a triple — and she drove in three runs. LeBlanc and Allie Michaud both contributed two hits, while Jayda Clark singled and had two RBI.
Katie Wallace tripled and Sami Santerre doubled for the Rangers (1-4).
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 3, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 2: Lauren Burnham laid down a squeeze bunt to drive in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning, and the Mustangs (4-0) beat the Falcons (1-2) in Monmouth.
Riley Smith preserved the lead when she threw out a runner at the plate in the sixth inning. Evelyn Pettengill earned the win, allowing eight hits and striking out eight to improve to 5-0.
Addison Tidswell had two singles and Kenzie Gammon had a double for Mountain Valley.
POLAND 13, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3: Leski Langevin was 3 for 4 with two triples, drove in three runs and scored three times to lead the Knights (4-2) over the Raiders (3-3) in Fryeburg.
Phoebe Paradis added two hits, four RBI and scored twice, while Julia Paradis had a double, scored three times and drove in one. Karlee Lothrop hit a double and pitched six innings to earn the win.
Hannah Murray and Presli Knapp each had two hits for Fryeburg.
CARRABEC SWEEPS RANGELEY: The Cobras drew 16 walks on their way to a doubleheader sweep in North Anson.
Carrabec (4-3) drew 10 walks in the first game to win 12-2, and drew six more in an 11-1 win in the second game.
In the opener, Karen Baker had a double, walked twice and scored twice for Carrabec. Lily Caldwell, Jillian Robinson and Kendall Scheve each had two RBI for the Cobras.
In Game 2, Baker, Ava Welch and Lily Kinney all scored twice.
LEWISTON 12, MESSALONSKEE 1: Madeline Andrews drove in a pair of runs and pitched all five innings to earn the win as the Blue Devils (5-1) beat the Eagles (0-5) in Oakland.
Andrews allowed one run on four hits, struck out five batters and walked two. Elsie Cloutier had a double, drove in a run and scored twice, while Juliet Phillipon added two hits and an RBI, and Piper Croteau and Isabelle Enos each had two RBI.
Riley St. Peter had a double for Messalonskee.
BASEBALL
EDWARD LITTLE 10, GREELY 4: Two prolific innings boosted the Red Eddies over the Rangers in Auburn.
The Red Eddies scored a run in the bottom of the first, then exploded for five in the second to take a 6-0 lead. They added four more in the fifth inning, capped by a two-run single by freshman Richie Norgren.
The win was the fourth straight for the Eddies (4-2), who have scored 10 or more runs in all four games.
Greely (4-1) was ranked third in the Varsity Maine poll.
Norgren led Edward Little’s offense with two hits and two RBI. Evan Scott, another freshman, also drove in two runs. Scott, Brooks Beaudry, Adam Meserve and Tallen Berry-Hart each scored twice. Starting pitcher Max Kimble earned the win, striking out six and scattering four hits over six innings on the mound.
Jarrett Bush (two RBI) and Ben Kyles (RBI) had two hits apiece for Greely, while Sylas Almy and Connor Skillin each doubled.
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 10, POLAND 0: Alex Allain hit two home runs and drove in six runs to lead the Raiders (5-1) past the Knights (2-4) in a five-inning game in Fryeburg.
Conner Keaten added three singles, while Noah Day and Richard Massey each doubled for Fryeburg.
Oliver Allocco pitched five innings and allowed four hits to earn the win.
GIRLS LACROSSE
MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 11, WELLS 7: Stella Stewart scored four goals and assisted on two as the Black Bears (5-0) defeated the Warriors (5-1) in Readfield.
Celia Bergdahl and Ingrid Stewart both added two goals.
