Coleman Mercier bounced in a goal with 2:46 remaining in the second overtime to give Lewiston an 8-7 win over Leavitt in a boys lacrosse game Wednesday in Lewiston. The contest was originally scheduled to be held at Leavitt Area High School, but was moved to Lewiston due to weather.
The Hornets (2-3) scored five straight goals to erase a 3-1 deficit, but the Blue Devils (2-3) then rallied for three consecutive goals in the fourth period to make it 6-6. Each team added a goal late in regulation.
Collin Michaud led Lewiston with four goals. Freshman Joey Moya scored the first three goals of his career and added an assist, while Ben Gradwell and Bernardo Fra-Nero each had two assists and Collin Churchill set up one goal. Blue Devils goalie Logan Hiscock made 15 saves.
Leavitt’s Wyatt Henderson scored a game-high five goals, and Everett Michaud added two.
