DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Rumford Hospital Auxiliary is seeking items for its Annual Yard Sale on Saturday, May 9, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 209 Lincoln Ave. in Rumford. Popular items include indoor/outdoor furniture, tools, jewelry, toys and puzzles. We are unable to accept large appliances or clothing. It’s a great time to clean out your garage and attic and help support our worthy cause to raise money for much-needed hospital equipment.

Members of the auxiliary will be at the above location to accept donations Friday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to noon.

For more information, please call 364-3648. Thank you for all you do to help keep people informed. — Barbara, Rumford

ANSWER: There’s nothing like a local yard sale fundraiser to motivate people to clean out and sort through all the places in their homes where they stick the things they no longer use. Think of how good it will feel to create some space and pass along those items you have put out of sight and then have completely forgotten about. I know because I’ve done it — more than once.

Grab your mom and/or friends and go browse at the sale — after cleaning out, you’ll have room to put new stuff!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read your answer about getting help with a computer, taking it to your local library. I am looking for a person who would be willing to come to my home and help me with a computer/printer problem. I need to download new drivers, etc.

I do expect to pay to have someone help me and I’m hoping you have a name in your Rolodex. Angela from Angel’s Computer used to be the go-to person but when I contacted her last week she informed me that she has retired. Thanks for any help you can give me  and enjoy your vacation coming up soon. — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: As I indicated in the April 23 Sun Spots, the techies I have in the Rolodex are Dustin at D&D Computers (https://dd-computers.business.site/,
[email protected] or 419-9184; The Computer Place (https://www.tcpme.com/, 783-7232; ACS—Action Computer Services in Lewiston (https://www.acs4u.com/, 786-8740); and Buck Buchanan at PCS-Professional Computer Services (http://pro-pc.us/,[email protected], 784-6295.

Sadly, Angela did retire but I hope she is traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was my techie person, too!

Hopefully, one of these people listed above can schedule some time with you to get you sorted. I need to have someone come to me too! It’s so much easier than doing it yourself. For many of us, these techies are worth their weight in gold, and then some!

Readers, if you do this kind of work or have pros to recommend, I’d love to add the info to the Rolodex.
