Colby Dolley’s walk-off triple capped a five-run bottom of the seventh inning that lifted Poland to a 7-6 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in a Route 26 rivalry game Friday in Poland.
The Knights (3-5) entered the final frame trailing 6-2. Landon Cooper’s two-run RBI got them within two, then Will Stanford and Eliot Rioux each drove in a run to tie the game and set up Dolley’s heroics.
Rioux led Poland with three hits, while Shawn West (double) and Aiden Bean finished with two apiece. Bean also pitched the final three innings, allowing only one hit, to earn the win.
Gray-New Gloucester (1-5) built its big lead with a four-run fourth inning. Gage Rioux and Landon Wilson each had two hits and Mason Amergain doubled for the Patriots.
SACOPEE VALLEY 12, BUCKFIELD 2: Braiden Croteau allowed only one hit and Donovan Harvey drove in three runs as the Hawks (6-2) earned a five-inning win over the Bucks (4-2) in Hiram.
Both Buckfield runs, which came in the fifth inning, were unearned. Croteau struck out five and issued one walk, but Sacopee committed six errors.
Tanner Hale was 2 for 2 with two RBI and two runs scored for the Hawks.
Nate Thomas got the lone Buckfield hit.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 11, MADISON 0: Wade Givens doubled and drove in two runs for the Mustangs (5-1) in a win over the Bulldogs (2-4) in Monmouth.
Bryce Fletcher, Kyle LePage and Tyler Johnson all had an RBI. Logan LeClair scored three times and Jake Harmon scored twice. Harmon notched two hits and Johnson doubled.
Monmouth broke the game open by scoring seven runs in the second inning.
A double by Logan Dawes was the only Madison hit.
SOFTBALL
EDWARD LITTLE 10, MT. ARARAT 0: Chloe LeBlanc pitched a six-inning no-hitter and had three hits, including a double, to lead the Red Eddies (6-2) to a win over the Eagles (1-5) in Topsham.
Elizabeth Galway added three hits, four RBI and two runs scored for Edward Little. Sophia Gerry drove in two runs, Emily Poulin had a double and Jayda Clark scored twice.
LeBlanc also pitched a no-hitter in the Red Eddies’ 9-1 win over Gray-New Gloucester on April 27.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 14, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 8: Maddy Brown collected five hits, including a home run, and had four RBI and four runs scored for the Falcons (3-1) in a win over the Phoenix (1-4) in Jay.
Kyanah Wing doubled and notched two RBI. Mackenxie Gammon, Addison Tidswell and Hayden Chase each recorded two singles and drove in a run.
Spruce Mountain’s Ashley Nelson homered, singled and drove in four runs. Layla Spear contributed a home run, a double and two RBI, and Devin Bryant (one RBI) and Aubrey Mitchell each had two singles.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH 14, WINTHROP/KENTS HILL 4: Jordyn Methot had two doubles and Reagan Partridge scored four times to lift the Seagulls (4-0) past the Ramblers (0-3) in a five-inning game at Old Orchard Beach.
Sammy Darling added two hits and two RBI and scored three times. Corinne Androkitis, Hannah Webber and Amelia Gervais also drove in two runs.
Webber allowed three earned runs over five innings to earn the win.
Kylee Mansir had two doubles for Winthrop.
POLAND 13, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3: An eight-run first inning jump-started the Knights’ (6-2) five-inning rivalry win over the Patriots (3-3) in Poland.
Karlee Lothrop was one of three Poland players with three hits. She drove in two runs and scored twice, and she earned the win by striking out six batters over five innings in the circle.
Catcher Phoebe Paradis (three runs, RBI) and Gabby Lenahan (double, RBI) also belted three hits. Carly-Ann Jarvis (double, two RBI) and Brenna Gallipeau added two hits apiece.
The Knights finished with 17 hits. They had 18 in Thursday’s win over Wells, giving them 35 hits over the past two days.
Audrey Getchell led Gray-New Gloucester with two hits. She also drove in a run and scored one.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 15, MT. ABRAM 0: Winning pitcher Lily Fortin drove in four runs with three hits, and Cami Casserly and Reese Weaver each had three RBI for the Panthers (7-1) in a four-inning win over the Roadrunners (1-5) in Yarmouth.
BOYS LACROSSE
BONNY EAGLE 12, LEWISTON 8: Colby Haskell and Mason Leblanc netted three goals each as the Scots (3-3) got by the Blue Devils (2-4) in a Class A matchup in Lewiston.
Nick Breton and Arlo Libby added two goals apiece to Bonny Eagle’s victory, while Davonte Ephron and Davis Powell both contributed a goal and an assist.
Collin Michaud’s four goals and two assists led the way for Lewiston. Ben Gradwell, Bernardo Fra-Nero, Tegan Dugal and Cam Plourde also scored. Gradwell and Thomas Cooper each assisted on two goals. Goalie Logan Hiscock made 11 saves.
