Chloe LeBlanc pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts and drove in two runs as Edward Little shut out Hampden Academy 6-0 in a Class A North softball game Saturday in Auburn.
Edward Little (9-2) took control with a four-run second inning. Elizabeth Galway had two hits and a run scored, Sophia Gerry walked three times and had an RBI and a run scored, and Nellie Feeney also drove in a run and scored one.
The lone hit for Hampden (6-3) was a triple by losing pitcher Cat Facchini.
SOFTBALL
EDWARD LITTLE 5, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 4: Adam Meserve drove in two runs and Max Kimble struck out 10, leading the Red Eddies (6-5) past the Broncos (7-3) in Auburn.
Kimble (4-0) scattered 11 hits. Two of Hampden’s runs were unearned.
Rogan Lord was 3 for 4 for Hampden. Ashton O’Roak, Logan Powers and losing pitcher Drew McKenney each had two hits.
GIRLS LACROSSE
MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 17, CAMDEN HILLS 9: Cooper Davis had six goals and an assist to lead the Black Bears (9-0) past the Windjammers (4-4) in Readfield.
Mya St. Pierre added five goals, while Stella Stewart had a goal and six assists for Maranacook/Winthrop. Celia Bergdahl and Ingrid Stewart each added a goal and an assist, while Evelyn Mortimer, Chloe Mills and Alice Ferran each added one.
