In the past week, Falmouth beat Cheverus, Thornton Academy beat Falmouth, and Maranacook/Winthrop took down Messalonskee. Those three results have scrambled the Varsity Maine girls lacrosse poll.

Thornton jumped from sixth to second — leapfrogging Falmouth, who remains third — and received 11 more points than last week’s No. 2, Cheverus, which dropped to sixth. The Stags’ drop is partially due to Maranacook/Winthrop moving from seventh to fifth after its victory over the Eagles, who were fifth last week.

Greely also beat Yarmouth, which resulted in those teams swapping the No. 8 and No. 9 spots.

Kennebunk is the unanimous No. 1 for the third straight week.

The Varsity Maine girls lacrosse poll is based on games played before May 19, 2026. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
