Ben Gradwell recorded five goals and three assists, and Lewiston earned a 15-8 win over Oxford Hills in a Class A boys lacrosse game Saturday in Lewiston.
Myles Walker added five goals, while Collin Michaud had three goals and two assists for the Blue Devils (4-7). Tegan Dugal (one goal, one assist), Cam Plourde (one goal), Bernardo Fra-Nero (three assists), Thomas Cooper (three assists) and Christian Rosario (one assist) also contributed offensively.
Garrett Wooster had four goals for Oxford Hills (1-10), and Conner Richard collected three goals and one assist. Kale Manchester added a goal and Andy Marr had an assist.
SOFTBALL
LEWISTON 6, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 0: Harley Gasser pitched a two-hit shutout and the Blue Devils (11-3) scored five times in the second inning to beat the Broncos (8-5) in Hampden.
Gasser shutout 10 and walked one for Lewiston, the No. 9 ranked team in the Varsity Maine poll.
Chloe Croteau had a two-run double in the second inning. Elise Cloutier added a double and a triple.
POLAND 16, CAPE ELIZABETH/FALMOUTH 0: Julia Paradis had two hits, including a double, and drove in four runs as the Knights (9-5) rolled to a four-inning win over the Capers (0-13) in Poland.
Meghan Komanetsky added two hits, three RBI and two runs scored. She also earned the win, allowing just two hits while striking out 10 and walking one.
Gabby Lenahan, Addy Bryant and Delila Farrington each had two RBI.
Finn Gilbert and Emily Scott got the only hits for Cape Elizabeth.
BASEBALL
MARANACOOK 14, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 2: Caldre Glowa was 3 for 4 with a double and three runs scored, and the Black Bears (12-1) extended their winning streak to 11 games by defeating the Phoenix (2-8) in Livermore Falls.
Grant Walters scored for times and Madox Murtha had two RBI and two runs scored as Maranacook won for the fourth day in a row. The Black Bears broke the game open with a six-run fifth inning and added three runs in the sixth to put the mercy rule into effect.
Carter Nelson, the winning pitcher, struck out seven and gave up only one earned run through five innings.
Brody Veilleux and Trent Lovewell each hit a double for Spruce Mountain.
CAPE ELIZABETH 6, POLAND 3: The Capers (9-4) pushed across three runs in the top of the ninth inning to defeat the Knights (7-7) in Poland.
Cooper Justh had two RBI for Cape, while Finn Connolly, Josh Trachimowicz and Joe Rinaldi all notched two hits and a run scored. Justin Strunk pitched the final four innings to earn the win, allowing one run on six hits.
Cade Johnson, Elliot Rioux and Colby Dolley led Poland with two hits each. Aiden Bean pitched a complete game and yielded three earned runs.
