Six players combined for 14 hits to lead Telstar to a 7-3 Class D South baseball victory over Valley on Thursday in Bethel.

Brennan Walker went 3-fof-4 with two doubles and and RBI, and Connor Deprey also smacked three hits while driving in two runs. Bryson Walker, Luke Mowery, Maceo Bartlett and Carter Inman finished with two hits apiece.

Rebels (11-2) pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts while limiting Valley to five hits. Mowery pitched the first four innings and fanned eight, while Deprey and Bartlett each struck out two batters.

Fisher Tewksbury led the Cavaliers (5-5) with two hits, including a double.

BRUNSWICK 4, EDWARD LITTLE 3: Wyatt Aceto’s bases-loaded single in the bottom of the eighth scored Sam Mullen and lifted the Dragons (5-9) to victory in a low-scoring duel against the Red Eddies (7-8) in Brunswick.

Aceto and Mullen combined to limit Edward Little to three hits. Aceto struck out seven in six innings, while Mullen pitched two innings of hitless and scoreless relief to earn the win.

Mullen led Brunswick with two hits and two runs. Gabe Purnell-Amaez doubled and drove in two runs.

Edward Little pitcher Max Kimble went the distance, striking out eight and scattering six hits. Dom Dumais had two of the Red Eddies’ two hits, including a double, and Adam Meserve singled and drove in a run.

SOFTBALL

EDWARD LITTLE 20, BRUNSWICK 2: Emily Poulin’s grand slam highlighted the Red Eddies’ (10-5) 16-hit, 20-run onslaught as they vanquished the Dragons (0-14) in five innings in Brunswick.

Chloe LeBlanc hit another home run for Edward Little, and she doubled, singled and had three RBI. Ellie Porter drove in four runs on two hits, while Lauren Bolduc had three hits, including a double, and an RBI. Poulin, Elizabeth Galway (double, three runs) and Allie Michaud (three runs) contributed two hits apiece.

LeBlanc also struck out nine batters and allowed five hits.

Brunswick’s Laiken Augustine homered and drove in two runs, and Kenzie Phillips finished with two hits.

TELSTAR/GOULD 14, VALLEY 4: Taejyah Lego doubled twice and drove in two runs to help the Rebels (10-3) to a decisive five-inning victory over the Cavaliers (4-9) in Bethel.

Cadie Campbell went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and three runs. Brooklyn Deprey and Quinn Coolidge each had three RBI. Maci Kerns and Vivienne Charette added two hits apiece, while Mya Buck doubled and drove in a run.

Coolidge struck out seven batters in five innings in the circle for Telstar/Gould.

Karlee Cates led Valley with two hits, including a double. Delia Hill and Myranda Beane also had doubles.

GIRLS LACROSSE

CONY 17, MT. BLUE 3: Casey Monson scored six goals, including the 100th of her career, Gabriella Vachon added four goals and four assists, and Cony cruised to a 17-3 win over Mt. Blue in a girls lacrosse game Thursday in Augusta.
Monson reached the milestone with the game’s first goal.

Paige Logan, Katelynn Dutil and Rylin Miller each chipped in with two goals.

Lily Huntly scored twice for Mt. Blue, which also got a goal from Nina Bogar.

MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 16, BRUNSWICK 5: Celia Bergdahl paced the Black Bears (13-0) with five goals and one assist in a win over the Dragons (7-5) in Brunswick.

Cooper Davis added four goals, Alice Ferran, Ingrid Stewart and Mya St. Pierre all scored twice, and Stella St. Pierre had a goal and three assists.

Solveig Ledwick led Brunswick with two goals.
