DEAR SUN SPOTS: Here’s a little reminder that Norway’s Heywood Club Annual 7.5-Mile Yard Sale is happening this Saturday, June 13, and will start at 8 a.m., rain or shine.

Sellers are set up at the clubhouse and all along Pleasant Street, Crockett Ridge Road and Round the Pond Road. — No name, Norway

ANSWER: This event is a big deal in beautiful Norway, one of my top five favorite Maine towns. The items for sale at the Heywood Club are for fundraising, and the other yard sales on the route are private. Be sure to make enough time to peruse everything and enjoy all the delights in town while you’re there, too.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Auburn Community Concert Band will kick off its 45th Annual Summer Series of outdoor concerts at Festival Plaza in downtown Auburn on Wednesday, June 17.

Free 75-minute concerts are planned for every Wednesday evening through Aug. 19, weather permitting. Each week, starting at 7 p.m., the band will perform a different program of music featuring popular hit songs from each decade from the ’60s through the present.

Ample free parking is available in the municipal garage across the street from the Plaza. Portable toilets will be alongside the garage for use by the band’s weekly audience.

Auburn’s Age Friendly group will be on site, selling a large variety of refreshments during every performance. Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs. In case of inclement weather, visit www.auburncommunityband.com for that evening’s concert status. Come enjoy an evening of Americana! — Milt, no town

ANSWER: I’m really excited about this and look forward to showing up for the first concert with my first batch of summer company. Who’s going to join me?

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Sometimes I listen to the radio station 97.9 FM and have noticed that the program, “Krissy in the Morning” is no longer on the air. Did they have a contract? Now there is a program called, “Matt and Alyssa.” Will that program go for three years?

Also, I watch Paramount on Channel 31. What is Paramount+, Apple, and Hulu? Are they regular channels? — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: Krissy T (Kristina Williamson) was let go from her morning show on Q97.9 (WJBQ) in Portland as part of staff changes made by Townsquare Media.

Townsquare Media parted ways with her in late January 2026. This coincided with other major shake-ups for the company, including the exit of longtime WHOM morning host Jeff Parsons.

Following these changes, Q97.9 transitioned to a new lineup called The Q Morning Show with Matt and Allyssa.

The world of radio can be very fickle and those working in this field move around quite a bit both voluntarily and involuntarily.

Paramount+, Apple, and Hulu are all streaming channels where you have to have the internet and pay a monthly fee. In my opinion, just enjoy what television programs you have, read some good books, listen to music, and be outdoors in the beautiful weather if you can.
