DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Poland Spring Preservation Society is pleased to present the lineup for its annual Sunset Concert Series. This year we are celebrating our 50th anniversary.
The Sunset Concert Series takes place Monday, June 22, at the Poland Spring Resort Gazebo at 22 Robbins Way. It will continue every Monday thereafter, concluding Aug. 31. Admission is $5 per person. In the event of inclement weather, the performances will be in the dining room of the Poland Spring Inn. The concerts begin at 6:30 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket and chairs. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase inside the Maine Inn and Mel’s Hilltop Restaurant is open for dinner before and after the concert. Takeout is also available.

ANSWER: A bit of background: The Poland Spring Preservation Society was formed in 1975 shortly after the Poland Spring House fire. The Society is dedicated to preserving the history of Poland Spring through the operation of the Maine State Building and All Souls Chapel. Today, these buildings are enjoyed as the site for historic exhibits, an art gallery, weddings and concerts throughout the summer months. The Society operations are directed by a volunteer board and staff members.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Central Maine Community College is excited to launch its Communication and New Media program, and we are inviting select community leaders to serve on the program’s advisory board.
The commitment level is minimal. Advisory boards typically meet once or twice each year on campus. Members are invited to attend a hosted meal and provide feedback on the status of the degree. Advisory members are encouraged to share suggestions, raise questions, and offer guidance to help ensure the program remains responsive to industry and community needs.

If you are interested in joining the advisory board, please reply to
[email protected] with your preferred contact information, including your email address, mailing address, and phone number.
This information will be shared with our Academic Affairs department, which coordinates advisory board events. Academic Affairs will follow up with additional details once you have agreed to serve.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to support our students and programs. — Mackenzie, no town
ANSWER: I read that graduates of the program will be qualified to enter the workforce in areas such as public relations, journalism, advertising and marketing. That’s what I have done with my life, and it has been a fabulous career. My favorite part is all the interesting people I have met along the way, and even now, I’m still learning new things.
