The Somerset Patriots, down by three runs with two outs in the ninth inning, tied the game and then scored again in the 10th to defeat the Portland Sea Dogs 5-4 on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field.

After two walks and a single in the top of the ninth, Garrett Martin doubled in two runs before a wild pitch tied the game. Somerset took the lead in the top of the 10th before the Sea Dogs loaded the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the inning. But a fly to short right, a strikeout and a comebacker ended it.

Portland trailed 1-0 and was being no-hit in the sixth inning by Somerset starter Xavier Rivas before the Patriots went to their bullpen. Ronald Rosario hit a two-run triple off reliever Michael Arias, and Miguel Bleis added an RBI single to put the Sea Dogs ahead 3-1.

Back-to-back doubles by Stanley Tucker and Ahbram Liendo made it 4-1 in the seventh.

Boston Red Sox pitcher Patrick Sandoval made a rehab start for the Sea Dogs and pitched three hitless innings before giving up a home run to Garrett Martin leading off the fourth, ending his outing. He struck out four and walked one.
