Falmouth finished the job and finishes No. 1 in the Varsity Maine boys lacrosse poll. The Navigators didn’t lose a game, but Thornton Academy was looming above them, as it had since last June when it defeated an all-time great Falmouth squad in the 2025 Class A final. The Golden Trojans earned the top ranking early in the season and held it until falling to Falmouth in the final week of the regular season.
The Navigators took over No. 1 in the most recent poll, on June 9, and they solidified that ranking with playoff wins over Cape Elizabeth, No. 5 Deering and then No. 2 Yarmouth (which took down Thornton in the semifinals) in the Class A championship.
Marshwood ranks fourth after an exciting Class B title game win over York, and Class C champion NYA finishes No. 8.
