A 15-year-old has been arrested in connection with a shooting June 14 in Lewiston that injured a 23-year-old woman, according to police.
The teenager was arrested Tuesday. He has been charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, a Class C crime, and was transported to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.
“This investigation remains active and ongoing. Additional charges are anticipated as investigators continue to review evidence and conduct follow-up interviews,” Lewiston police said in a Facebook post.
No further information will be released at this time because of the suspect’s age, police said.
Just before 3 a.m. on June 14, patrolling officers heard gunshots coming from Webster Street. Officers immediately responded and found 23-year-old Leyla Isaak suffering from a gunshot wound in front of 89 Webster St.
Paramedics transported Isaak to Central Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
In February, Isaak was arrested on charges of aggravated reckless conduct, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and criminal mischief, after firing multiple gunshots that hit a vehicle in Lewiston, according to police.
