DEAR SUN SPOTS: Tommy’s Feral Feline Friends is having a two-day Summer Bake & Craft Sale Fundraiser at Axis Natural Foods, 120 Center St., in Auburn on Friday, July 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at Family Dollar, 11 Middle Road in Sabattus on Saturday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The weather may be warmer but that doesn’t make living outside any easier. Help us support our local feral cat community by taking part in this two-day fundraising event either by baking, crafting, or just buying some treats and donating.

If interested in participating, please bring any crafts or treats packaged, labeled, and priced for sale to Axis Natural Foods by 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 3, and/or Family Dollar in Sabattus by 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 4. — Rosanna, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I want to thank the good Samaritan who came to my aid this past week. I was in Richmond with a friend getting ice cream when I tripped on a bump on the sidewalk and fell. (Fortunately, I had already set my ice cream float on the picnic table and had gone back for more napkins!) I’m in my 70s and fell on both knees and hit my shoulder very hard. This veteran who was standing nearby (and walking with a cane, mind you) helped me to my feet.

I hope he sees this, as I want him to know it meant the world to me that he cared. I was quite shaken and before I registered what had happened, he had disappeared. I’m bruised and still embarrassed but I’m OK. It could have been so much worse. Thank you, kind sir, for helping a damsel in distress! — No name, Lisbon Falls
