DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Drop-in Center at 121 Mill St. in Auburn needs men’s clothing — everything from underwear, jeans and shirts to hoodies and fleeces, and women’s clothing including underwear, hoodies, and fleeces.

We also need to replenish our supply of umbrellas, backpacks, sleeping bags, tents, tarps, and blankets. If you have any of these items that you aren’t using, please consider dropping them off at the center.

Please do not donate winter items at this time. Our storage space is limited, but we will be collecting these items in a few months so please bring them over then.

Donations can be dropped off on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 9 a.m. and noon. Thank you for your generosity. It is truly appreciated by all our guests! — Sue, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Auburn Community Concert Band has kicked off its 45th annual Summer Series of outdoor concerts at Festival Plaza in downtown Auburn. Free 75-minute concerts are planned for every Wednesday evening through Aug. 19, weather permitting. Each week, starting at 7 p.m., the band will perform a different program of music featuring popular hit songs from each decade from the ’60s through the present.

Ample free parking is available in the municipal garage located across the street from the Plaza. Portable toilets will be located alongside the garage for use by the band’s weekly audience.

Auburn’s Age Friendly group will be on site, selling a variety of refreshments during every performance. Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs. In case of inclement weather, visit www.auburncommunityband.com for that evening’s concert status. Enjoy an evening of Americana! — Milt, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: This is a reminder that the Turner Public Library will hold its Annual Book Sale in the Community Room of the Leavitt Institute Building, 98 Matthews Way in Turner, from Thursday, July 2, through Sunday, July 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.

Unless otherwise marked, books are priced at $1 for hardcovers and 50 cents for paperbacks. There are books for all ages and interests, as well as puzzles, and other treasures. On Sunday, July 5, there will be a Fill-a-Bag Sale with each bag at $5. — Sadie, Turner
