Lewiston police on Monday arrested a 17-year-old boy accused of prearranging a gun sale and robbing the person of cash in the outer area of Pleasant Street and fleeing the area.
The teenager was charged with two felonies, robbery and criminal simulation. He was taken into custody and taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland, where he remains.
The victim reported arranging to buy a firearm from an individual, according to a release on a Lewiston Police Department Facebook page.
When the two met, the seller displayed the firearm and robbed the victim of cash before fleeing the area.
Through an investigation the teenager was identified.
“Investigators recovered the firearm that was used during the robbery, as well as the stolen money,” according to police.
