A motorcycle and van collided Tuesday morning at the intersection of Mayville and North roads in Bethel, severely injuring the motorcyclist.

Christopher LeBrun, 43, of Bethel was driving a 2020 Ford Van east on Mayville Road at about 9 a.m. and negotiating a left turn onto North Road, according to Maj. Dana Thompson of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.

Anthony Wells, 49, of Bethel was driving a 2019 Kawasaki motorcycle west on the road when it collided with the van that was heading east, Thompson wrote in a release.

Wells received “severe lower extremity injuries” and was taken by ambulance to MaineHealth Stephens Hospital in Norway. He was then taken by LifeFlight of Maine to the Maine Medical Center in Portland.

A reconstructionist from the Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash.

LeBrun was not injured and there were no passengers in the van or on the motorcyle.
