We had a lot of entries with personal comments and stories about this memorial to a local Lisbon salon owner and legend in the community. The photo was taken in the Worumbo Riverfront Event Center (The WREC) in Lisbon Falls, where a canoe is filled with flowers dedicated to Faye Brown. In a random drawing from all the correct entries, Nancy Metzger of Lisbon Falls was picked as the winner of a $25 Hannaford Supermarket gift card. In her email entry, she wrote: “The Mystery Photo was taken at the Worumbo Mills site in Lisbon Falls. It is a picture of a canoe filled with flowers and a barbershop post placed there in memory of Faye Brown. Faye started the Green Thumb Gang when my daughter was in kindergarten with her granddaughter and grandson. It was created to beautify the town and get children invested in their town.”
