Webster Street Convenience and Diner, a neighborhood diner and convenience store on Lewiston’s south side, has announced the business has been sold, and the owners are moving on at the end of the week.

Brandy and John Caron have owned the diner and store for nine years, according to their website, and have created a loyal following through the years.

Shortly after posting the news that the store and diner had been sold July 29, reaction was quick and full of praise, with most postings offering thanks for years of service.

“The new owners will be taking over soon,” the Carons posted on social media, “and we’re confident they will bring fresh energy and ideas while continuing to serve you with the same warmth and care you’ve come to expect.”

Customers have come to expect low prices and hearty home cooking, with Brandy Caron posting videos showing “what’s in my pot today” as her teaser for the day’s soup or special.

The Carons did not reveal the new owners, but in a second social media post announced a free cookout for customers Friday.
