Kidd and his passenger, Karrie Phenes, 46, were ejected from the ATV.
“Kidd sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene,” Nichols wrote. “Phenes sustained severe, life-threatening injuries and was flown by LifeFlight of Maine to MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland,” he said.
The crash reported at 4:52 p.m. remains under investigation.
Assisting Couture at the scene were Deputy Constantino Zenteno and two deputies from the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, who conducted the crash reconstruction. Chesterville Fire Department and Farmington Fire Rescue also responded to the scene. Maine Health Franklin EMS assisted with emergency medical care and transport.
