A little over one year after opening a combination restaurant and gift store at 34 Court St. in downtown Auburn, the owners of Nutty Netties Cafe closed after service Sunday.

The Buccheri family opened the original Nutty Netties in the Auburn Mall in 2022. In July 2025, they opened a second location at 34 Court St. In February of this year, they moved their Auburn Mall operation to 730 Center St. in the Auburn Plaza.

According to the announcement, despite closing at 34 Court St., the 730 Center St. location will remain open.

“This is not simply a business decision. It is a family decision,” the social media post announcing the closure stated. Citing “tremendous sacrifice,” the post added that personal and health challenges had led to the decision to close the downtown location.

34 Court St. was most recently the 1800 Club, but has been host to a number of businesses over the years, including No Tomatoes, Midnight Blues Club, Lavish Nightclub, House of Bacon, Naral’s and 207 American Grille.
