YORK – Pitcher Nick Douglass led off the seventh inning with a home run to left-center to lift Poland to a 7-6 come-from-behind victory over York in WMC baseball action Friday.

Poland (5-6) saw a four-run lead disappear into a 6-4 deficit after five innings, but Mike Littlefield tied the game with a two-run homer in the sixth to set up Douglass’ heroics.

Trey Ouellette also homered for the the Knights. Douglass had three hits, while Matt Brewster and Casey Ray had two apiece.

Douglass, a senior southpaw, scattered 12 hits, but struck out 12 batters and only walked one to keep the game close. York (5-4) left 10 runners on base.

Paddy Murphy led the Wildcats with three singles.

Brewer 12, Mt. Blue 2

FARMINGTON – Billy Bissell and Andy Bush belted home runs to lead Brewer to a 12-2 victory over Mt. Blue in five innings.

Bissell hit a three-run shot in the fifth to highlight a seven-run uprising that gave Brewer the 10-run cushion. Chase Daniels went the distance for the victory.

Devin Zamboni singled home a run in the second inning, and Shane Smith added an RBI double for Mt. Blue in the fourth. Alec Wallace chipped in with a triple for ther Cougars.

Liv. Falls 7, Telstar 1

BETHEL – James McLamb twirled a three-hitter to improve to 3-0, leading Livermore Falls to a 7-1 victory over Telstar in MVC baseball action Friday.

Chandler White had a double for the Andies (8-2), while Alex Rose and McLamb added a pair of hits each.

T.J. O’Connor led the Rebels (3-6) with a double. James Kimball pitched for Telstar and fell to 1-3.

Oak Hill 14, Erskine 7

SOUTH CHINA – Junior third baseman Brett Turcotte stashed three hits and three RBIs to lead Oak Hill to a resounding 14-7 triumph over Erskine Academy in KVAC baseball action Friday.

The Raiders (5-4) jumped out to a four-run lead in the top of the first inning, and lit up the scoreboard again in the fourth and sixth innings with three and five runs, respectively. Sophomore shortstop Joey Turcotte contributed two hits and two RBIs for Oak Hill.

Nick Grady launched a round tripper for the Eagles (4-5) in the losing effort.

Mt. Ararat 5, Oxf. Hills 3

SOUTH PARIS – Tom Dunn plated the go-ahead and eventual game-winning run as Mt. Ararat slipped away with a 5-3 victory over Oxford Hills in extra innings in KVAC baseball action Friday.

The Vikings (4-6) evened up the contest at 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning. Alex Newton had two hits, including a double for Oxford Hills.

Dunn’s RBI single in the top of the eighth plated Cam Morrill. Brian Sherwood pitched in with two hits, including a triple for the Eagles (5-5), while Tim Bickford also posted a pair of hits.

Lisbon 14, Georges Valley 4

LISBON – Marcus Bubar and Tyler Brown collected three hits each to propel Lisbon to a 14-4 rout over Georges Valley in baseball action Friday.

The Greyhounds (6-3) jumped all over Buccaneers’ starting pitcher Larson Platt in the first inning. Platt only saw four batters, while Georges Valley (4-5) fell behind 9-0 before the inning was over. Bryant Matthews pitched from the first to the third.

Platt doubled in a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning to try to keep the Buccaneers hopes alive.

But, Tobey Harrington hit a triple that drove in two runs in the bottom of the fifth frame to invoke the 10-run rule.

Boothbay 9, Jay 4

JAY – Pitcher Dan Gagnon struck out eight batters and Boothbay used 13 hits and four doubles to knock off Jay, 9-4, in a baseball game Friday.

Jay (2-8) held a 2-1 lead for three innings before the Seahawks (1-7) figured out Tiger pitchers Grant Richards and Kyle Demillo.

For Boothbay, Dan Dickerson doubled twice and hit a triple, and teammate Joey Hersom homered. Jay’s Billy Calden had two hits.
