RUMFORD – Tied at 10 with 1:36 remaining in regulation, Mountain Valley’s Ayla Allen collected a clearing pass, dashed 70 yards and fired a shot in the lower left corner to give the Falcons a thrilling 11-10 victory over Lincoln on Saturday.

The Eagles, led by Ari Clifford’s five goals, enjoyed a 7-5 halftime advantage and led by one at the two minute mark when Shannon Mills converted a Tia White pass into the game-tying goal.

Allen led the Falcons (3-2) with five goals, four in the second half, while Brittany Coulombe tallied three and Caitlin O’Connell scored two. Krista Lee denied 15 shots in net. Molly Stackhouse registered three goals for the Eagles (1-4) and Katrina Belle added two.

Softball

St. Dom’s 12, Buckfield 0

AUBURN – Mary Lewis hit a pair home runs and catcher Kelsea Murphy smacked a two-run triple as St. Dom’s walked off with a 12-0 victory over Buckfield in a softball game Saturday.

The game was shortened to five innings after the 10-run rule was implemented.

The Saints (4-1) wasted no time jumping out front with a six-run first inning. They added another five runs in the third before adding another in the fifth.

Erynne Landry had two singles and Amanda Cullen got the win on the mound for St. Dom’s. The Saints used nine hits to dispatch the Bucks (2-2).
