LEWISTON – Mathieu Aubin and Maxime Robert scored a pair of goals to lead the Lewiston Maineiacs to an 8-4 win over the Quebec Remparts in Quebec Major Junior Hockey action at the Central Maine Civic Center Sunday evening.
“Overall, we played well with the exception of a 10 minute lapse in the third period,” said assistat coach Jeff Guay. “The coaching staff was not very pleased with the intensity.”
That lapse made it interesting as the Remparts were able to score three goals before Lewiston picked up the pace, adding a pair of insurance goals late in the third period.
The Maineiacs broke out to a quick 2-0 lead as Aubin (power-play goal) and Robert found the back of the net and looked to be in complete control until the third period.
Francis Trudel, Alexandre Picard, Jonathan Palement, and Richard Stehlik rounded out the Maineiacs’ scoring outburst.
