WATERVILLE – Ben Russell netted a pair of goals, including the game-winner, to give Mt. Blue the 2-1 edge over Waterville in a KVAC boys’ soccer game Tuesday.

Russell secured the win in the second half after knocking in a loose ball. Welly Ramsey assisted on the first Cougar goal.

The lone Waterville goal was scored by Teddy Worcestor in the final 30 seconds of the contest off a pass by Noah Spofford.

St. Dom’s 2, NYA 2

YARMOUTH – Andrew Allen and Greg Barlion both tallied second-half goals Tuesday to lift St. Dom’s to a 2-2 tie with North Yarmouth Academy.

The Saints (1-1-2) rallied back from a 2-0 halftime deficit to eek out the tie. Austin Fuller made 12 saves in net for St. Dom’s.

The Panthers (1-0-2) received a pair of goals from Taylor Gorman, with assists from Banek Thiwate and Dimch Kelesosula. Peter Bates turned aside seven shots in net for NYA.

Lake Region 4, Gray-NG 1

NAPLES – Todd Shigo and Alex Toews netted two goals apiece Tuesday to pace Lake Region to a 4-1 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC boy’s soccer action.

Phil Leighton contributed for the Lakers (1-3) with an assist, while Matt Langaclas made five saves in net.

The lone goal for the Patriots was scored by Kyle Orlando in the second half. Joe Ripley handled netkeeping duties, turning aside 16 shots.
