PARIS – The Rape Education and Crisis Hotline (REACH), serving Oxford County and the towns of Harrison and Bridgton, is seeking volunteer advocates for its support line. Training will be provided.

To learn more about becoming a REACH volunteer advocate, call 743-9777, e-mail [email protected] or visit www.reachmaine.org.

In addition to operating a 24-hour support line, available to individuals who have been sexually assaulted recently or some time in the past, REACH offers crisis intervention and support services to victims, survivors and concerned others, ranging from one-to-one support to support groups. Services are free and confidential.

Trained REACH educators offer age-appropriate safety programs for pre-school through college-age students and provide community education. Staff and volunteer advocates can accompany sexual assault victims to the hospital and provide support to a victim and family through the court process. REACH also has a lending library on site.
