RANGELEY – A series of movies with nondenominational religious themes will be presented at the Lakeside Theatre at 7 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 10 through March 13. The The Cabin Fever Film Festival shows will be representative of the decades from 1920 to the present.
The series is free to the public; however, there will be an opportunity to donate to the Epsicopal Diocese of Maine’s mission in Haiti, supporting schools and health care. The Church of the Good Shepherd is sponsoring the festival with support from the Lakeside Theatre.
The first offering will be a silent film from the 1920s about Joan of Arc on Jan. 10. It is rated PG-13. The rest of the schedule, running times and ratings are as follows:
Jan. 17: A family film from 1936 of Old Testament stories with Gospel music; 93 min. G.
Jan. 24: Anglican nuns in the Himalayas try to start a school, 1947; 101 min. PG-13.
Jan. 31: A crusader knight searches for meaning, 1956; 96 min. PG-13.
Feb. 7: A man moves from saloo n hustler to revival tent, 1960; 147 min. PG-13.
Feb. 14: no movie.
Feb. 21: A film of the life of St. Francis, 1972; 121 min. G.
Feb. 28: Actors stage a life-changing new version of the Passion, 1989; 120 min. R.
March 6: An independent film about redemption, 1997; 143 min. PG-13.
March 13: A film to prepare us for the Easter feast; 103 min. G.
