    Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle

    A 54-year-old Old Town woman was killed while walking on Thursday evening. At 6:27 p.m. that night, police received a report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle.  Responders found an unresponsive female that was pronounced dead on scene.  At this time, she has not been identified.     Old Town boys, Orono girls advance in tourney

    The Old Town boys basketball team beat Ellsworth this afternoon 53-50 to advance to the Eastern Maine Class B finals on Saturday at the Cross Insurance Center at 3:45 p.m. Orono’s girls, meanwhile, beat Piscataquis 40-29  this morning to advance to the Class C semifinals, where they will play at 7:05 p.m. on Friday.
