Katie covers everything from crime to community as the weekend reporter at the Portland Press Herald. She's originally from the Hudson Valley region of upstate New York. Before joining the Press Herald, she attended Quinnipiac University, where she studied journalism and political science and worked as the editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, The Quinnipiac Chronicle. She also worked on the digital team at NBC Connecticut based in West Hartford. When she isn't reporting, you can find her exploring Portland's coffee shops and bookstores.
