WOODSTOCK —   A Paris woman was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland after suffering serious injuries in a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer Wednesday morning on Route 26.

Jamie Hall, 45, was driving her 2015 Ford Fiesta north when she crossed the centerline and hit the 2023 Western Star tractor-trailer driven by John Knight, 57, of Saugus, Massachusetts, heading south,  according to Oxford County Sheriff Chief Deputy James Urquhart. The collision occurred near the top of Merrifield Hill.

Route 26 is also named South Main Street.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Traffic was detoured away from the scene. Deputies were assisted by the Maine State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement. Investigators remained at the scene Wednesday afternoon.

Oxford County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by Pace Ambulance and fire departments from Woodstock, Paris and Bethel.
