AUBURN — An Androscoggin County grand jury has indicted three men in the May 23 robbery of Rite Aid on Main Street in Livermore Falls.

Shawn Francis, 49, of Peru, Jeffrey Johnson, 48, of Wilton and Christopher Coulter, 38, of Chesterville were each indicted on charges of Class B robbery and Class C stealing drugs, according to court documents.

A conviction on the robbery charge is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. A conviction on the drug charge is punishable by a maximum of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Livermore Falls police said in May that Francis went into the store and passed a note to a pharmacist that threatened the use of a weapon and demanded all of the oxycodone.

Police said Francis was given a quantity of oxycodone and left the store on foot.

Witnesses said the suspect was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, a yellow bandana and sunglasses, police previously said. An investigation led to a residence on Borough Road in Chesterville. Police said they searched the property and found evidence.

Initially Johnson and Coulter were arrested on a felony charge of criminal conspiracy.

A fourth person was also charged but not indicted.
