NEW GLOUCESTER — Pineland Farms will celebrate summer with their first ever Family Night, a festive evening of folk music and dancing planned for Thursday, July 30.

Performing a lively mix of old-time jigs-&-reels music will be the multi-generational fiddle ensemble Les Bijoux (The Jewels), whose members range from age 10 to “ageless.”

Folk dance instructor/caller Cindy Larock will be on hand to lead attendees in an assortment of fun and easy square and contra dances, which she describes as “designed for anyone old enough to know their left from their right,” making them user-friendly for school-age youth as well as their parents and grandparents.

The Family Night event will be held rain or shine from 5 to 7 p.m. in Pineland Farms’ special-events tent. There will be additional activities for children. Admission is $5 per person, with tickets available at the welcome center. FMI online at www.Pinelandfarms.org or by calling 207-650-3031. Pineland Farms is on Farm View Road, off Morse Road.

Pineland Farms has a second Family Night planned for Aug. 27, featuring more music and dancing.
