LIVERMORE — Selectpersons on Tuesday night unanimously voted to buy a truck and plow for $62,000.

Trade-in of the truck that won’t pass inspection is included in the price. The truck is being purchased from Rowe Ford in Auburn and the plow from HP Fairfield in Skowhegan.

Highway Foreman Roger Ferland said the truck comes with a pump for the plow and a 9-foot galvanized body. It is an automatic, he said.

The galvanized body is a must for longevity, Ferland said.

Voters approved spending up to $62,000 at the annual town meeting in June. Originally, up to $100,000 had been requested, but Selectperson Mark Chretien said he had priced a 2017 F-550 4X4 diesel with plow, gear and dump body for the lower amount.

Resident Dwight Hines asked if competitive bidding had been sought, and Ferland replied that it had. No other prices were given.
