LEWISTON – The grand jury indicted a total of 47 people on 94 counts. The following were indicted on Class A and B charges.

Edgar “Dre” Rodriguez, 31, of 412 Lisbon St., Lewiston, on a charge of gross sexual assault. He is accused of forcing a woman to engage in a sexual act Oct. 19 in Lewiston.

Matthew Roy, 23, of 99 Winter St., Lewiston, on a charge of aggravated assault. He is accused of using a beer bottle to injure a man Oct. 28 in Lewiston.

Kevin Goulet, 18, of 67 Pierce St., Lewiston, on charges of robbery, kidnapping, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. He is accused of ordering a man to hand over money and jewelry at gunpoint and forcing the victim into a trunk of a car Nov. 8 in Lewiston. At the time of the alleged incident, Goulet was free on bail after he was charged with robbery Aug. 13.

Russell Vazquez, 22, of 143 Pierce St., Lewiston, on a charge of aggravated assault. He is accused of stabbing another man with a knife Oct. 26 in Lewiston.

Travis Popa, 19, of 198 Sunderland Drive, Auburn, on a charge of robbery. He is accused of using a dangerous weapon to demand money from another man Oct. 31 in Auburn.

Billy Santana, 19, of 38 Union St., on four counts of aggravated trafrtglkdjglsdkjgldkjgfdlskjfg;slkjfgljkgsdl;gjds;lfgjsdficking in schedule W drugs and four counts of violating conditions of release. He is accused of trafficking cocaine Oct. 21, twice on Nov. 2, and on Nov. 4, in Auburn, while he was free on bail from other charges.

Leonidas “Lobo” Sierra, 54, of Farmington, Conn., on three counts of aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs. He is accused of trafficking in cocaine twice on Nov. 2 and on Nov. 4 in Auburn within 1,000 feet of a school.

Herman “Junior” Reyes, 38, of Farmington, Conn., on two counts of aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs and a charge of trafficking in schedule W drugs. He is accused of trafficking in cocaine twice on Nov. 2 and on Nov. 4 in Auburn. The two aggravated trafficking indictments allege Reyes dealt cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school.

Nicholas Foster, 20, of Lewiston, on a charge of burglary. He is accused of illegally entering the home of a Lewiston man Nov. 20.

James Birkbeck, 24, last known address listed as 27 Vale St., Lewiston, on three counts of burglary and charges of theft and attempted burglary. He is accused of illegally entering homes in Lewiston Oct. 14, Oct. 17 and Oct. 18 and stealing a handbag, jewelry and money. He is also accused of attempting to illegally enter a woman’s home in Lewiston Oct. 20.

Ryan Currier, 22, of 44 Lamey Rivers Road, Jay, on charges of burglary, theft and terrorizing. He is accused of illegally entering the home of a Livermore Falls woman Oct. 14, stealing a telephone, caller identification unit, pictures and personal papers and verbally threatening a woman who lives at the residence.

The following people were among those indicted on Class C or lesser charges:

William Tardiff, 30, of Turner, on charges of attempted trafficking in schedule Z drugs and trafficking in prison contraband. He is accused of possessing more than 20 pound of marijuana and having it delivered to a man in Lewiston July 21. He is also accused of obtaining marijuana while he was an inmate at the Androscoggin County Jail Nov. 6.

Barry Thomas, 39, of 3 Harmony Lane, Lewiston, on a charge of negotiating a worthless instrument. He is accused of issuing seven checks throughout 1997 in Lewiston and Auburn knowing they would not be honored by the bank.

Travis Withee, 18, of 82 Maple St., Lewiston, on charges of burglary and theft. He is accused of illegally entering a storage warehouse Oct. 20 in Lewiston and stealing magazines.

Robert Dougherty, 33, of 78 Howard St., Lewiston, on a charge of attempted trafficking in schedule W drugs. He is accused of offering to sell Hydrocordone to a couple Oct. 16 in Lewiston.

Jennifer Nichols, 27, also known as Jennifer Enoch, of 82 High St., Farmington, on a charge of negotiating worthless instruments. She is accused of issuing 23 checks in Lewiston in August 1994 knowing they would not be honored by the bank.

Maurice D. Leblond, 26, last known address listed as 12 Oak St., Auburn, on a charge of negotiating a worthless instrument. He is accused of issuing 17 checks in April knowing they would not be honored by the bank.

Jonathan O’Connor, 19, of 169 Bartlett St., Lewiston, on charges of assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He is accused of intentionally injuring a boy under the age of 6 years old Jan. 30 in Lewiston. He is also accused of violating his duty of care and protection of his two children by treating them with cruelty through abuse, neglect of extreme punishment the same day.

Laurie Peters, 41, of 282 Lisbon St., Lewiston, on six counts of acquiring drugs by deception. She is accused of falsely claiming she was picking up prescriptions for Darvocet for another person at a Lewiston pharmacy in June, July and August.

Randy C. Hall, 33, of 54 Spring St., Lewiston, on charges of assault and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. He is accused of intentionally injuring a woman Oct. 12 in Lewiston and threatening her with a baseball bat.

Rodney R. Maxim, 31, of 68 1/2 Bradley St., Lewiston, on a charge of theft. He is accused of stealing a mattress and box spring set Sept. 28 from a store in Lewiston.

Christopher S. Benedetto, 25, of 160 Holland St., Lewiston, on charges of eluding a police officer, driving while intoxicated and driving to endanger. He is accused of driving while drunk Aug. 23 in Lewiston, engaging Lewiston police officer Alice French in a high-speed chase and driving in a manner that endangered people and property.

Daryl C. Gormley, 32, of 13 Gamage Ave., Auburn, on a charge of theft. He is accused of scheming to steal more than $2,000 Oct. 18 from the Puffin Stop store in Auburn.

John A. Breton, 26, of 2129 Riverside Drive, Auburn, on a charge of theft. He is accused of scheming to steal more than $2,000 Oct. 18 from the Puffin Stop store in Auburn.

Scott P. Breton, 27, of 65 Oak St., Lewiston, on a charge of theft. He is accused of scheming to steal more than $2,000 Oct. 18 from the Puffin Stop store in Auburn.

Terry S. Small, 31, of 13 Gamage Ave., Auburn, on a charge of theft. He is accused of scheming to steal more than $2,000 Oct. 18 from the Puffin Stop store in Auburn.

Dixie Lee Lavoie-Gormley, 27, of 13 Gamage Ave., Auburn, on a charge of theft. She is accused of scheming to steal more than $2,000 Oct. 18 from the Puffin Stop store in Auburn.

Michael J. Gorman, 28, of Winthrop, on charges of driving Oct. 25 in Livermore Falls after having been declared a habitual offender and possession of a firearm the same day while prohibited to do so due to a felony conviction in 1992.

Jeffrey Profenno, 19, of 1332 Royalsborough Road, Durham, on charges of assaulting a police officer, refusal to submit to arrest and driving while intoxicated. He is accused of intentionally injuring Lisbon police officer Scott Stewart while the officer was trying to arrest him Sept. 16 in Lisbon.

Daniel Bussiere, 38, of 33 Pine St., Lewiston, on a charge of assault. He is accused of intentionally injuring a woman June 7 in Auburn.

Melissa Savage, 24, of 12 Elm St., Freeport, on a charge of acquiring drugs by deception. She is accused of presenting a false prescription for Tylox Sept. 18 in Lisbon Falls.

Barry L. Coyle, 39, of 67 Manley St., Auburn, on charge of driving Oct. 15 after having been declared a habitual offender in 1991, driving a woman’s car without permission and failing to remain at the scene after he was involved in a crash with property damage.

Todd M. Cote, 30, of 46 Mitchell St., Mechanic Falls, on a charge of possessing a firearm Sept. 22 in Poland while he was prohibited to do so due to a felony conviction in 1990.

Kevin Hughes, 33, of Snell Hill Trailer Park, Turner, on a charge of driving Oct. 17 in Turner after having been declared a habitual offender in 1985.

Armand R. Duteau III, 22, of 5 Bearce St., Auburn, on a charge of driving Sept. 27 in Poland after having been declared a habitual offender in May.

Roger Charest, 31, of 270 Avenue Road, Wales, on a charge of driving Oct. 24 in Lewiston after having been declared a habitual offender in May.

Travis A. Boivin, 19, of 3061 Churchill Road, Leeds, on charges of burglary and theft. He is accused of illegally entering the cellar in the home of a Turner couple June 26 and stealing two bicycles.

Raymond J. Niemi, 32, of Robinson Road, Turner, on charges of driving Nov. 12 in Auburn after having been declared a habitual offender in April. He is also accused of eluding police, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and driving to endanger. He is accused of engaging Auburn police officer Paul Caouette in a high-speed chase, using his vehicle to endanger two police officers and driving in a manner that endangered other people or property, also on Nov. 12 in Auburn.

Travis J. Poisson, 18, of 322 Middle Road, Sabattus, on charge of vehicle burglary and theft. He is accused of illegally entering another man’s vehicle Sept. 24 in Wales and stealing money.

LEWISTON – A man accused of driving a getaway car in an armed robbery at Christy’s in Lewiston last spring was indicted Tuesday by an Androscoggin County grand jury.

George Palmer, 40, who is currently in prison on other charges, was indicted on a charge of Class A robbery. Police said Palmer went to Christy’s, at 345 Main St., with 25-year-old Jill Polley.

Surveillance photos from a store camera clearly showed Polley brandishing a gun inside the store while she demanded cash. Polley later turned herself in to police when the store photographs ran in the Sun Journal.

Police interviewed Palmer about his role in the robbery but the investigation didn’t conclude until this week when the presented their evidence to the grand jury, which rose Tuesday, Nov. 24.
