WATERVILLE – Mackenzie Dwyer of Goding’s Tae Kwon Do in Farmington was crowned state forms grand champion in the under age 6 division for this season.

The competition is based on the state martial arts ratings and totals system. The championship event determines the overall division winner for the year. Participants are invited to compete based on placements in tournaments throughout the season. The top four place holders throughout the year compete for the grand championship.

Dwyer placed second in sparring and was crowned state grand champion performing the traditional tae kwon do from Tae Guk Sa Chung.

“Mackenzie has a lot to be proud of,” said chief instructor Rob Goding. “Her hard work and dedication have paid off. She is a wonderful student and is a joy to teach. I am very proud of her.”

She is the daughter of Shane and Karri Dwyer of Wilton.
