On March 29, my husband and I joined the group by the overpass in Auburn to lend our support for the troops in Iraq.
The weather was lousy with snow, sleet and rain. Many folks carried flags of the U.S. The response from the road was incredibly good!
What struck us most during our time out there was a young man in a truck who pulled over and politely reminded us that it was not proper to expose the U.S. flag during inclement weather.
We thanked him for his comment and he went on his way.
Afterwards we realized that he was absolutely right. We were most heartened that a man of his age was aware of that and it made our time there a lot more meaningful.
