LEWISTON — Mike Hasenauer scored both of his goals in the fourth quarter to lead Connecticut College to a 6-5 win over Bates College in a NESCAC men’s lacrosse game at the AstroTurf Field Sunday afternoon.

Hasenauer broke a four-all tie in the fourth quarter when he tickled the twine off a John Haberland feed with 9:50 to go in regulation. Just over three minutes later, he converted a Dave Schwart pass for the game-winner.

Brad Frost scored twice for Bates (5-7, 1-5), and teammate Mark Dobby made 12 saves.

The Bobcats also received goals from Scott Duddy and Jeff Critchlow.

Women’s lacrosse

Williams 11, Bowdoin 9

BRUNSWICK — Despite six goals by Hillary Abrams, Bowdoin College was forced to bow to Williams College as the Ephs escaped with an 11-9 victory in women’s lacrosse Sunday.

The Polar Bears, ranked 18th nationally, falls to 5-2, while Williams, ranked seventh, improves to 4-0.

Both teams battled howling winds throughout the game. Senior Kate Leonard and sophomore Tara Boyd each tallied three goals for the Ephs.

Junior Angela King scored two goals and earned an assist for the Polar Bears.
