NORWAY — The staff at Gateway to the Shire is preparing for the seventh annual Kids Kamp, a summer day camp at Guy E. Rowe Elementary School.

Registration has begun but enrollment is limited, so anyone interested needs to call as soon as possible, organizers said.

Each week will have a theme. There will be guest speakers, entertainers, activities and weekly field trips related to the themes. The day camp will provide meals and snacks through the U.S. Department of Agriculture child-care food program.

Programs will include a computer lab, as well as summer-long reading and writing programs. Swimming will be offered, and the staff will again team up with the Norway Recreation Department to offer swimming lessons.

Kids Kamp is available to area children from 5 to 12 old. The camp also has a volunteer counselor-in training program for teens between 13 and 17.

A limited number of scholarships are available. Requests for scholarship applications should be made immediately.

The camp is accepting employment applications for counselors and counselors-in-training.
