In an effort to revive a tradition, Anderson-Staples American Legion Post 112 and Auxiliary will provide military families in Oxford and Otisfield with a Blue Star Banner. The Blue Star Banner began in World War I. A banner in the front window showed a family’s pride in having a loved one in military service. The Legion post wants to rekindle that pride by honoring all men and women in uniform and by encouraging this visible reminder to all Americans how many of their fellow citizens are involved in war. Those wishing to be part of this tradition may phone 539-4505 or 743-0791 for more information.
