SPRINGVALE (AP) – A man accused of trying to kidnap an exotic dancer was being held at the York County Jail on bail of $5,000 cash or $50,000 property.

Thomas Sampson, 24, called the woman’s service for an appointment and gave directions to a road in Limington, according to the York County Sheriff’s Department. Sampson tried to restrain her in his car and threatened her with a gun before she escaped, Lt. Gary Fecteau said.

Sampson’s bail conditions prohibit him from having contact with the woman or entering Hollis, Limington or Waterboro.

Authorities did not release the woman’s name.
