LEWISTON — Advocates for Children will offer a class for parents, “Talking to Your Kids about Personal Safety,” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 14, at 157 Main St.

Talking about personal safety with a child may not be easy. The two-hour workshop will help parents decide how to best talk with a child about their body and keeping it safe. Topics will include defining sexual abuse, different touches, safety rules and body ownership.

A light dinner will be served and child care will be available. Registration is required. Contact Advocates for Children at 783-3990.

Advocates will sponsor a class for parents and kids, “Fighting Fair for Families,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 28, at 157 Main St.

Learn and practice positive strategies for dealing with conflict in the home, such as active listening, rules for fighting fair, what to do with anger and how to use “I” messages.

The free two-hour program is open to families with children in grades two through six. Call the above number to register or for details.
