Three vehicles were recovered shortly after they were reported stolen.

WILTON – Police were busy this weekend investigating stolen vehicles and an accident that ended in an operating-under-the-influence charge. The vehicles were recovered shortly after they were stolen.

Police Chief Jim Parker said officer Bob Cole arrested Charles Dixon II, 29, of Baytown, Texas, early Sunday on an operating-under-the-influence charge. Dixon lost control of his vehicle on Route 2 near the junction of Cemetery Road, Parker said, went into a ditch and the vehicle rolled over.

Dixon posted $200 cash bail Sunday from the county jail. A court date to answer the charge is May 22.

Parker said there were also a car and a truck stolen, Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Both vehicles were recovered in different areas, he said.

At about 10 p.m. a 1997 Geo Metro was reported stolen from Fernwald Apartments off Route 2, Parker said. Ninety minutes later, it was found parked beside a road in Fayette, he said.

Also, a maroon Ford 150 pickup truck, valued at about $8,000, was reported stolen at 6:30 a.m. from Route 2 and recovered at 8 a.m. on Orchard Drive. Police have a lead in that case, Parker said.

Wilton police recovered a vehicle reported stolen from Jay, near the Route 2 residence where the truck was stolen from, Parker said.
