LIMESTONE – Each summer the United States is represented by its finest students at International Olympiads in mathematics and physics. Students at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics recently earned distinction in contests leading up to the selection of USA Mathematical Olympiad and USA Physics Olympiad teams.

Three area students scored well enough on the American Mathematics Competitions exam to be selected to take the American Invitational Mathematics Exam. They are Nicholas C. Cummings of Auburn, Corey A. White of Greene and Jeffrey Ouellette of Jay.

Only 5 percent of the students who take the exam are invited to take the invitational. More information is available at www.unl.edu/amc.
