1911 – 2003

BRADENTON, Fla. – Gerald L. Howard, 91, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Wilton, died at his home in Florida on Wednesday, April 9.

He was born April 26, 1911, in Wilton, the son of Edward and Clara (Foster) Howard.

He was educated in the schools of Wilton and married Anita Turner Aug. 9, 1942 in Wilton. He is a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.

After the war he worked for several years at the Wilton Woolen Mill, he later worked for G.H. Bass Co. in Wilton for over 20 years, retiring in 1975. He was an avid sportman and loved to read the sports page of the Sun Journal and the Franklin Journal. He coached Little League Baseball in Wilton for years.

He is survived by his wife Anita; a son, Brian Howard; and a grandson, Brian Howard II.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Rupert and Donald.
