OLD ORCHARD BEACH (AP) – A Biddeford man in jail on drug charges has admitted shooting a Saco man last week, police said.
No charges have been brought against T. Joseph Glidden, 24, in connection with the shooting.
Charles Raybine, 37, of Saco, was shot on April 7 and has since undergone surgery for bullet wounds. He was released Saturday from Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Since the shooting, Glidden was arrested on unrelated charges of trafficking cocaine and heroin, and is now in the York County Jail.
The shooting occurred in an Old Orchard Beach house where Glidden had been staying, authorities said.
Raybine told police that he and two friends went to the house to collect money that Glidden allegedly him.
A scuffle between Glidden and Raybine ensued, said Police Lt. Keith Babin, and Glidden allegedly shot Raybine four times with a .40-caliber handgun.
When Glidden was arrested on the drug charges, he admitted shooting Raybine, Babin said.
Police are still investigating the shooting and plan to meet with prosecutors to discuss possible criminal charges, Babin said.
