KEENE, N.H. – Tyler Delorme had three hits to become the University of Southern Maine’s career leader in that category, and he drove in three runs to lead the Huskies to an 11-5 victory that salvaged a split of a Little East baseball doubleheader with Keene State.

Keene State took the opener, 9-8, as Mike Masseur’s RBI single bailed out the Owls after they blew a five-run lead, surrendering three of those in the ninth inning.

The loss ended a nine-game winning streak for USM (17-11) and marked the first time Keene State has beaten USM since joining the Little East in 1998.

Tip Fairchild cracked an RBI double for the Huskies in the nightcap.

Ryan Johnston picked up his third win of the season. Six of USM’s runs in the second game were unearned.

Husson, Lyndon State split

BANGOR – Craig Harvey struck out nine to lead Husson to a 10-3 victory over Lyndon State in the first game of a doubleheader. Lyndon State won a wild second game, 9-8.

Husson (17-11) erupted for seven runs in the first inning of the opener. Jason Folsom, Harvey and Billy Kane each slapped an RBI single, and Shawn Henderson cracked a two-run double.

Kane and Lyndon’s Travis Casey each knocked in three runs in Game 2.

Softball

UMF sweeps Fisher

FARMINGTON – Richelle Dube doubled and drove in two runs to lead the University of Maine at Farmington to a 15-1 win over Fisher College in the first game of a Sunrise Conference softball doubleheader.

UMF won the second game 8-5.

Lauren Stacey and Melissa LeMar picked up the pitching victories. Dorice Reitchel was a repeat hitter in both games.
