WEST PARIS – The West Paris Old Home Days committee will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the historical hall. The group meets every Wednesday either at the hall or at the town office. Retired teachers

PARIS – Oxford County Retired Teachers will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, at the West Parish Congregational Church in Bethel. President Marilyn Leighton will lead the meeting.

Any newly retired teacher or teacher’s aide wishing to attend for the first time needs to call 743-7677 or 743-6503 for reservation for the noontime dinner. Cost is $6. This will be followed by Cathy Newell speaking about changes in adult education.

Satellite message

OXFORD – Pastor Lonnie Melashenko’s message on Armageddon will be delivered live by satellite from April 27 to May 4. The opening night can be viewed at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at the Woodstock Seventh-Day Adventist Chruch on Perkins Valley Road or at the Oxford Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Fore Street, just off Route 26. HARRISON – Church Women United will celebrate May Friendship Day at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, at Calvary Community Church. The theme is, “Many gifts, One Spirit.” Women of all faiths are invited. Offerings of the annual international fellowship of the Least Coin will be collected. Refreshments will be served.

Art topic

FRYEBURG – The Fryeburg Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at the American Legion Hall on Bradley Street. The topic will be “Mt. Washington Valley Art and Artists,” presented by Conway Historical Society’s director, Dave Emerson.

Storing photos

OTISFIELD – The Otisfield Historical Society will present a program, “Attics to Archives,” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at the Norway Memorial Library.

This will be a workshop on storing, repairing and organizing books, letters, papers and photos. Society members Ethel Turner, Jean and David Hankins will present the program.

Attendees are encouraged to bring examples from their own collections for advice from the presenters.

Charette show

BERLIN, N.H. – Rick Charette, singer and songwriter of children’s music, will perform at the Community Arts Center, 155 Emery St., at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10. Tickets are $8 at the door, $5 under 12 and free under age 4.

Plant sale slated

FRYEBURG – Members of the Fryeburg Extension will meet at the American Legion Hall. Social time is 8:45 am. with meeting at 9. Plans will be finalized for the annual plant sale June 7 at St. Ann Seaton Church. Members should bring a sandwich for lunch. Hostesses, Ida Hutchins and Priscilla Barton, will provide dessert and coffee.

Rummage sale

NORWAY -A rummage sale will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at St. Catherine’s Parish Hall. The youth of the church use the proceeds to support their charitable donations as well as their spiritual retreats.

Working with kids

Alumni banquet

PARIS -All Paris High School graduates are invited to the 100th alumni banquet at 7 p.m. June 21, in the cafeteria of Oxford Hills Middle School on Pine Street. Supper, catered by Ranger’s, will be followed by a meeting and special events. All Oxford Hills graduates are welcome. More information will be announced at a later date.
